 Just released: Human Communication Research's October issue on communication and technology edited by Joseph Walther and Patti Valkenburg.

Thirty years ago, Human Communication Research hosted a Symposium on Mass and Interpersonal Communication. Authors argued that emerging digital media didn’t fit existing areas of study, defy categorization as either interpersonal or mass media channels, and that “technological change may facilitate a long-needed paradigm shift in communication science” (Reardon & Rogers, 1988, p. 297).
